Year 5+6

We believe that it is important for children’s work to be based on real life situations and for children to develop their learning through as many first hand experiences as possible. The curriculum that we provide at Low Furness is rich in practical and first hand experiences, visits, residential experiences and opportunities for all children to learn and grow in a stimulating, exciting environment.

Children from Year 1 to Year 6 follow the programmes of study of the National Curriculum. The schemes of work used by the school are based on a two year rolling programme so that children who will be in a class for two years (Early Years Foundation Stage and Year 1, Year 1 and 2, Year 3 and 4, Year 5 and 6) do not repeat work in consecutive years.
