Child Protection & Safeguarding Children

At Low Furness, we aim to have an effective Child Protection/Safeguarding Policy, which provides clear direction for staff and others, about expected codes of behaviour in dealing with protection issues. As part of our duty of care to children any suspicion that a child may have been abused or ill-treated has to be reported to the Social Services Department immediately. This is required under Cumbria’s Child Protection Procedures. All Teaching and non-teaching staff have undergone recent Child Protection training in Summer 2014. The school follows the procedures set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016
