In the Foundation Stage the curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidelines for children who are Nursery and Reception age. This leads children via stepping-stones to Early Learning Goals which, when achieved, ensure that the children are ready for the National Curriculum in Year 1. We have a Foundation Class with Reception children attending all day and nursery children attending for afternoons. Parents have the option to pay for their children to attend additional morning sessions. Children are eligible for a place in the nursery section of the class at the start of the term following their third birthday. For more details, please see the Foundation Stage Prospectus. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 follow the programmes of study of the National Curriculum. The schemes of work used by the school are based on a two year rolling programme so that children who will be in a class for two years (Early Years Foundation Stage and Year1, Year 1 and 2, Year 3 and 4, Year 5 and 6) do not repeat work in consecutive years.
